September 2025 Social Media Holidays

September’s got a holiday for just about everything – from coffee ice cream to positive thinking – and they’re perfect for adding some fun to your social media. These little “holidays” give you easy ways to connect with your audience, spark engagement, and keep your content feeling fresh.

The only weird part? For some reason, almost none of them fall on a Wednesday. (Netflix must have dibs.)

Use this list to plan ahead, hop on trends, and give your followers something fun to look forward to all month long.

Grandparents Day / National Daughters Day – These holidays offer a great chance for you to thank family that have supported your business, and to remind your followers of your brand values, like family, tradition, and hard work. Share a personal or heartfelt note.

Talk Like a Pirate Day – Write a lighthearted post with pirate slang or a pirate-related pun worked into your business. “Arrr you ready for savings?” or “Ahoy matey, we’ve got treasures waiting for ya! (Translation: Check out our flash sale today!) #TalkLikeAPirateDay”

First Day of Fall – Drop a “Fall Bucket List” graphic with ideas your followers can share/save. Include popular seasonal themes and trends your followers would be interested in, like fall foods, books or movies, holiday decorations, fall books or shows, football season, fall home or yard clean-up, sweater season, etc.

National Coffee Day – Offer a coffee-themed promo like “Show us your coffee and get 10% off today!” or an engagement post such as “This is what’s in our cup today ☕ What’s in yours?” Tag a local coffee shop to build community!
